GCD Calculator
Find the greatest common divisor of two or more whole numbers.
How this calculator works
How to use this calculator
1. Enter at least two non-negative whole numbers separated by commas or spaces.
2. Click Calculate GCD.
3. The calculator returns the greatest common divisor shared by all entered numbers.
Formula used
The greatest common divisor (GCD) is the largest whole number that divides every entered number without a remainder.
This calculator repeatedly applies the Euclidean algorithm:
GCD(a, b) = GCD(b, a mod b)
until the remainder is 0.
Example calculation
Example: 24, 36, 60
GCD(24, 36) = 12
GCD(12, 60) = 12
Result = 12
What the result means
The GCD is the largest whole-number factor common to all the values you entered. It is useful when simplifying ratios, fractions, and number relationships.
Frequently asked questions
Is GCD the same as greatest common factor?
Yes. GCD, GCF, and highest common factor are commonly used for the same idea.
Can I enter more than two numbers?
Yes. Enter multiple whole numbers separated by commas or spaces.
Can I enter decimal numbers?
No. This calculator is designed for whole numbers.
