How this calculator works
How to use this calculator
1. Enter the number you want to round.
2. Choose the target place, such as 2 decimal places, a whole number, tens, hundreds, or thousands.
3. Click Round Number.
Formula used
The calculator scales the value to the selected place, applies standard numerical rounding, then scales it back.
For decimal places, the value is multiplied by a power of 10 before rounding.
For tens, hundreds, or thousands, it is rounded to the corresponding place value.
Example calculation
Example: 1234.567 rounded to 2 decimal places
1234.567 → 1234.57
Example: 1234.567 rounded to the nearest hundred
1234.567 → 1,200
