GPA Calculator
Calculate GPA from course grades and credits on a 4.0 scale.
How this calculator works
How to use this calculator
Add each course, choose the grade point value, and enter the credits for that course. The calculator multiplies grade points by credits and divides by total credits.
Formula used
GPA = total grade points earned ÷ total credits. Grade points earned for each course = grade value × course credits.
Example calculation
If you take three courses with A in 3 credits, B in 3 credits, and A- in 4 credits, the weighted GPA is (4.0×3 + 3.0×3 + 3.7×4) ÷ 10 = 3.58.
What the result means
The result is a weighted GPA based on credit hours and selected grade values. Schools may use different grading scales or rounding rules.
