How this calculator works
How to use this calculator
Enter the loan amount and property value. The calculator shows the loan-to-value ratio and estimated equity.
Formula used
Loan-to-Value Ratio = Loan Amount ÷ Property Value × 100. Equity = Property Value − Loan Amount.
Example calculation
If the loan amount is $200,000 and the property value is $250,000, the LTV is 80% and estimated equity is $50,000.
What the result means
LTV shows how much of the property value is financed by the loan. A lower LTV generally means more equity.
Frequently asked questions
What is LTV used for?
Lenders may use LTV when reviewing mortgage applications, refinancing, and risk.
Can LTV be over 100%?
Yes. That means the loan amount is higher than the property value.
Does this include closing costs?
No. It compares loan amount and property value only.
